Therapy for Women Navigating Perimenopause, Midlife, and Everything in Between

You've Always Held it Together Until . . .

Your body feels different

Your emotions feel louder

And you're not sure why but you don't feel like you anymore

…This isn't just in your head. And you don't have to figure it out alone.

 Let's figure it out together!

If This Feels Familiar. . .

You might be noticing:

  • Anxiety that seems to come out of nowhere
  • Feeling overwhelmed by things that never used to bother you
  • Mood swings, irritability, or emotional sensitivity
  • Trouble sleeping or shutting your mind off
  • Feeling disconnected from yourself, your body, or even your relationships
  • Questioning who you are in this phase of life

And maybe the hardest part…You’re used to being the one who handles everything—and now it feels like something has shifted.

This stage of life can feel confusing—and honestly, a little unsettling.

Perimenopause and midlife transitions don’t just affect your body. They impact your nervous system, your emotions, your identity, and how you move through the world.

It’s not just hormones. It’s years of holding, coping, pushing through… catching up with you.

And while everything on the outside might look “fine,” inside can feel very different.

My approach is relational, grounded, and deeply attuned to you.

I don’t believe in quick fixes or surface-level strategies.

Our work together is about:

  • Understanding what your mind and body are holding
  • Gently reconnecting you to yourself
  • Regulating your nervous system so you feel more steady and in control
  • Making sense of the patterns, emotions, and experiences that are surfacing now

I integrate:

  • Somatic (body-based) work
  • Trauma-informed therapy
  • Mindfulness and nervous system regulation
  • Space for reflection, processing, and real conversation

This is a space where you don’t have to perform, hold it together, or have the answers.

I work with women who:

  • Are in their 40s, 50s, and beyond
  • Are navigating perimenopause or postmenopause
  • Feel anxious, overwhelmed, or emotionally stretched thin
  • Are going through life transitions—empty nest, relationship changes, caregiving, loss
  • Have spent years showing up for others and are now wondering, “What about me?”

A Different Way to Heal

Sometimes talking isn’t enough—because what you’re feeling isn’t just in your thoughts, it’s in your body.

Through somatic work and guided sessions, we:

  • Slow things down
  • Tune into what your body is holding
  • Release built-up stress and tension
  • Create a sense of safety and connection within yourself

This is especially powerful during midlife, when your body is asking for something different than it did before.

Hi, I'm Tara Arhakos

I’m a licensed mental health counselor, and I specialize in working with women navigating anxiety, trauma, grief, and life transitions.

But more than that—I show up as a real person in the room with you.

I understand what it means to feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of yourself during times of change.

My goal isn’t to “fix” you. It’s to help you feel more like yourself again—grounded, aware, and connected.

Clients often share that they begin to:

  • Feel calmer and more emotionally steady
  • Understand their reactions instead of feeling controlled by them
  • Reconnect with their body and intuition
  • Experience more clarity and confidence in this stage of life
  • Feel less alone in what they’re going through

You don’t have to keep pushing through on your own.

If something in you is saying, “I need support right now”—trust that.
